Back to the land movement urged as relief plan
The piece argues for state aided land use to employ Jobless families, proposing 50 to 100 acre plots bought with cheap state land and financed by future repayments. It cites Pennsylvania owning 1.7 million acres, with 100 plus acres per family, and calls for a gradual shift toward self sufficiency through steady work and prudent management. The article warns the eight hour day cannot apply here and emphasizes practicality and independence over quick cash.
