Amelia Earhart of Boston with Wilmer Stultz and Lew Gordon prepared to depart Trespassy Newfoundland for London in a Fokker with Byrd designed plan. Junior High prepares a promotion program on Tuesday evening led by a cantata Spring Cometh performed by pupils. The program includes March United Liberty America Romance and Spring Cometh selections with solo parts by Max Harvey and Kenneth Hixson. Principal H G Wolfe and Supt R S Dewey present certificates. invitations issued with tickets at the principal or superintendent offices.
In Erie on June 4 a robber entered Dr. Shipley’s chiropractor office at 922 State Street after a door was left ajar. Port Uceman Rogan and Traffic Cop Talbert tackled him as he confronted William Darling 39. The suspect wrested a gun but was subdued and charged with robbery thrice, sent to County Prison awaiting Alderman Albertadt hearings.
George Chissensen of the east city suffered severe cuts to hands and face when his Ford overturned in an auto mobile accident east of the city Saturday evening. The vehicle was taken to Lorry hospital for treatment with injuries described as serious but not life threatening. A party including W Ed Murat Harold Shannon Miss Gertrude Munger and Mr and Mrs J W Carnrice departed Sunday for Scranton Pa to attend the 7 C C F Grand Lodge and Rebekah assembly.
City Council will hold a regular session at the Municipal building this evening. Members expect routine business and the usual array of bills, reports, and communications to be reviewed amid standard city affairs. V. E. Sethian returned home in Erle this afternoon after a Sunday visit with relatives in the city.

Students at the Senior High School held a class night with green and white colors and noisy celebratory demonstrations atop the building and on the ag staff. Some damage occurred as fights erupted, a junior is reported cut on the face, but no serious injuries. Neighbors suffered sleepless nights, and a suggestion was made to relocate future celebrations to a distant field to avoid city disturbance.

Rev. A. L. Roth delivered a stirring baccalaureate at Corry High School auditorium for the 1928 graduating class. He urged graduates to discover and protect opportunities, with Biblical illustrations and practical advice. The ceremony opened with an invocation, readings, and hymns, as graduates in caps and gowns listened to a dedicated address praised as among the finest in annual exercises.
A raiding party comprising Jefferson of Warren County Ald Chief of Police George Haehn visited a well known resort between Pittsfield and Wrightsville late Saturday afternoon and confiscated a quantity of alleged liquor. No arrests were made as the proprietor was not found. a warrant is expected to be issued and an arrest made later.
This evening the Corry Business and Professions Women s Club will meet at the Hotel Corry for its annual officer election and other important club business. Members are urged to attend in full.
