An intense dynamite blast damaged the Lycoming Motor plant in Williamsport, tearing a wall, wrecking a auto parked nearby and smashing windows. Officials estimate losses exceed $10,000 as investigators search for a motive and suspects amid a record of heightened security at the facility.
Construction starts on an improved road between Clymer and Cutting with a planned transit toward a Pennsy route to the western Krieunil points. Lehreimer Contracting Co of Biffle leads the work with steam shovels cement mixers and other machinery arriving to speed up the project. The road stretch runs about three miles and a half and the project aims for completion this year. Anna Kelly arrived in the city from Irie for a weekend visit while Robert Champion returned from Pittsburgh after visiting relatives.
City council plans to approve an ordinance and bond issue of 28000 to finance resurfacing from Park Place to Cohunt Avenue with bids possibly opened late this month and full street improvement by July 1. Gas and water lines will be replaced, and preliminary work arranged for early council session.

United Press reports a fatal airboat collision at Brantford Ontario on June 4 leaving four dead and two believed fatally injured. Names linked to the tragedy include farmer Sam Bellhouse his son Russell Bellhouse and his daughter in law, plus Robert Silverthorne and the child of Russell Bellhouse.
Dr J D Jackson died at 1 80 this morning at his family home on Wrest Pleasant street in his 70th year after a lengthy illness. A graduate of Ohio State University class of 1898 he practiced medicine in Sandy Lake Pa prior to moving to Conytron North East. He was born in Monaca Pa and is survived by his widow, a son DeWitt Jacks of Erie, two brothers and a sister. Funeral services Monday at 2 00 pm at his home conducted by Reverend A Martin. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.

In New York a bold heist targets a private home, with robbers fleeing after stealing jewelry valued at about $100,000. Authorities report the crime occurred Sunday night in Kenilworth area and involves suspects described as “gentlemen burglars” from a Long Island town. The Philadelphia victim Peter A. B. Widenup is identified in leaflets related to the case.

In Nashville Tennessee on June 4 General Keith Jn six and Lehman Keith four sons of George Keith president of Germitage Mills were abducted from their front yard before noon. They were taken by two unknown men in an automobile.
