Expect High Prices For Hogs Through 1975 Outlook
Washington AP reports hog producers can expect strong market prices through early 1976 due to sharp breeding herd cuts since last summer. First quarter hog slaughter is down 10 percent from a year earlier with further declines likely April through June. Higher corn prices last year kept producers from feeding hogs, and a potential bumper feed grain crop this summer could alter expansion timing.
