George T. Downey and William J. Sample of Corry have been granted US patent 3,442,384 for a Combination Filter and Surge Resistant Bypass Valve. The device prevents false signaling from short duration pressure pulses while signaling during sustained differential pressure to prompt filter cleaning or replacement. The patent is assigned to Aero-Flow Dynamics, Inc. of Corry.

Boy Drowns In Farm Pond in Bedford County
Somerset County boy Lester E Chaney aged 9 drowned while swimming in a pond on his grandmother’s Buffalo Mills farm. He was hunting tadpoles with friends when he waded in and his body was recovered from about five feet of water. The incident occurred yesterday.
