Governor Duff Grants Pardons and Commutes Sentences
Governor James H. Duff, following State Pardons Board recommendations, pardoned eight individuals and commuted sentences for 13 others. None of the released offenders were from Eve county. Police also reported a stray black and white dog picked up for city ordinance violation. A local fisherman, Merton Fitel, returned home Sunday with a five pound seven ounce trout, twenty four inches long, caught on a night crawler in a great stream.

Thrill Beater Gets Extra Year In Allegheny Workhouse
Robert Krolak aged 20 and Donald Klemm aged 21, members of Evie’s thrill seeker trio, faced assault charges in Erie county. Krolak pleaded guilty to assault and received a one to two year term to be served after a prior resilience period, raising total penalties to four to eight years with possible further prosecutions on three other counts suspended. Klemm accepted a deferred sentence. two to four years could follow on two additional counts, with three weeks earlier sentencing by Judge Evans.
