Rainstorm totals 1.31 inches in Corry May drought ends

Corry residents logged 1.31 inches of rain last night the only May rainfall for the city. Weather observer Paula Mountain noted May average is 4.22 inches and the system brought a brief end to a farmers dry spell with no major damage reported though flooding and scattered incidents occurred across the area including a collapsed wall at a Belle Valley home and traffic backups near the Erie airport and Route 98 underpass. Police responded to burglar alarms as storms lingered with further thunderstorms forecast and local stations briefly knocked off air by lightning.
