Infant in Philadelphia Hospital After Safety Pin Lodged Throat

Warren reports a six month old son of Mr and Mrs William A Anderson Lexington Avenue is at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia for removal of a safety pin lodged in the throat. The mother accompanied the infant while the father serves in the armed forces. Paul L Marton of Giion City and Eleanor M Northard of Erie filed for a marriage license in Erie yesterday. Liberty Still Breaks Up With 1000 Saved At Sea

The 10,200 ton Liberty ship ran ashore in fog and rain off Parralon islands, 30 miles west of the Golden Gate, as it carried more than 1,000 Navy passengers home from war service in the South Pacific. Rescue crews ensured all aboard were safe despite the ship breaking up.

Governors End Parley Call For Quick Federal Action

The nation’s governors closed the 36th conference urging swift federal plans for public production. They pressed highway, rivers and harbors, irrigation and food central development.
