Five Missing in Small Boat Reported in Lake Erie
Five people were reported missing late Thursday when their 20 foot boat was found at anchor in Longpoint Bay northeast of Longpoint Ontario after a seven hour Coast Guard search. Rescued were Ted Flower 40 Phyllis Flower 40 Cori Flower 16 Linda Frederickson 15 and Cynthia Hatch 16 all from View Fair. The missing group had no injuries and the cause of the isolation was unclear as the boat was towed to Erie. The first report came at about 11 a m yesterday to the state watercraft safety officer by Mrs Hatch who was at the Flower home.

A two car head-on crash near Gerry in Chautauqua County killed three Russell Pennsylvania residents and injured three others.
