Highway Robbery in Pennsylvania Roads and Taxpayers Plea
Dorothy A Lindsey of Corry writes that Pennsylvania highways are poorly funded and maintained. She cites potholes on routes 25076 25047 and 89 in Erie Crawford and Warren counties accusing governors and the assembly of neglect while taxpayers suffer damaged cars and rising taxes. She urges PENNDOT action and a shift of responsibility to state officials.

Harrisburg Highway Fund Shortfall Delays Resurfacing Plans
Dear Mrs Lindsey letter from District 10 outlines that funds from the Motor License Fund and Liquid Fuels Tax are insufficient to resurface many Pennsylvania state routes. With reduced auto sales and rising costs, 44 000 miles of state routes cannot be resurfaced now. The Erie County superintendent will continue repairs until funds become available.
