In Mexico City on July 28 the Obregon anti labor group hailed a victory as Laborites are to be dismissed from Mayoral and federal district posts and replaced by Obregonistas. Soto y Gama led the drive blaming Laborites for political influence in Obregon's assassination and urging nationwide action to strip Laborites of power.
United Press reports eleven inmates escaped the State Central Hospital for the Insane near Nashville after a threat to the institution. Of 1,272 freed inmates, seven have returned. nine of the missing are deemed dangerous. Rebuilding of the administration building has begun, with fire damage estimated at $200,000.
Four Holland youths drowned when the speed yacht owned by A H Landwehr collided with the steamer City of Holland in Black Lake channel. The dead include Paul Landwehr and three companions from prominent families. Two others, Robert Nediano and George Lyle, survived and were hospitalized as the City of Holland searched all night.

Harrisburg reports the State Highways Department awarded Devine Company of Meadville the contract to pave the Lowville to Little Jane stretch on the North East route for 226,029 dollars. The project runs through Greenfield and Venango townships, improving connection to Oil City, Titusville, Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania, with Fry Construction Co. of Erie winning a parallel peninsula contract. Work is expected to start within one or two weeks.

Julius Jacobson, 80, long a Corry resident before settling in Glens Falls, died after weeks of illness.
