An automobile ran off a curve east of Columbus onto Pennsylvania Railroad tracks injuring Sophie Christianson Jamestown NY, Young Kane PA, and Bernard Stein Indianapolis IN. Macy Page Erie PA escaped injury.
Bear Lake vicinity reports include social visits to Jamestown and Mayville, family travel to hunting camps, church activities at U B and United Brethren, and a funeral in Sugar Grove. Local births, visitors from Clymer and Erie, and mid week prayer meetings are noted along with renovations and home purchases in the area.
Funeral services for Mrs Jane Ann Messenger were held Thursday at the Salvation Army church on East Washington Street with Adjutant John Brunner of Oil City in charge and Adjutant Watson of Erie assisting. The service included a song by Mrs Chaitings and was followed by interment in Pine Grove cemetery. Bearers were six grandsons Leslie Royal Wilfred Wallace Kenneth Messenger and Elsworth Hawley. Relatives and friends from Oil City Union City Westfield and Jamestown N Y visited.
A boxing bout at Redland Field last night saw Freddy Miller of Cincinnati fall to Battling Fultralino of Hartford in a ten round featherweight title fight. Fultralino dominated most rounds, damping Miller twice with knockdowns and winning the decision from 12,000 spectators.
Chicago champion Thompson loses a ten round decision to Lu Brouillard in a non-title bout at Boston Garden before a crowd of about 7,000. Brouillard won every round except the eighth where Thompson rallied briefly.
