Chrysler Exits Stock Car Racing For 1967 Season
Chrysler Corp announced it will pull its factory team from stock car racing next year and urged Ford to join on the sidelines. NASCAR president Bill France called the move a great benefit to the sport, while Ford said it had not decided on reentry. Chrysler will fulfill commitments for the balance of 1966 with drivers Richard Petty, Dave Pearson, Sam McQuagg, Jim Hurtubise and others.
