Income Tax Will Not Touch City Bonds
Harrisburg AP The Shapp administration says a proposed 2.5 percent income tax would not apply to gains from state and municipal bonds. Revenue Secretary Kane testified that bonds already issued or future issues remain exempt, a shift from earlier remarks. Lawmakers study the tax plan amid opposition from attorneys and bankers who warn higher taxes would lift borrowing costs.

Trailers and Taxes Spark Elk County Meeting Debates
Elk County commissioners debated trailer assessments at yesterday's meeting in the courthouse. Vernon Cheatle, the chief assessor, argued a five to six month stay makes a trailer real estate for tax purposes. Solicitor Pontzer and the panel agreed that leaving wheels on a trailer does not remove it from real estate classification.

Agnew Has Wide GOP 72 Support
A survey of Republican leaders at a Denver session shows broad favor for Richard Nixon's vice president Spiro Agnew to be renominated in 1972 with most expecting his return. Some dissenters from the East Midwest and Texas urged change, with suggestions of Connally or other names, though the majority backed Agnew. The meeting also discussed site selection for the convention, with San Diego favored for Aug 21–24, 1972, while Nixon offered no firm preference.
