The Tunisian president Habib Bourguiba ordered seizure of the French Sahara pipeline at Skhira as French paratroops backed by tanks and planes attacked Bizerte. Tunisian infantry and civilian volunteers fought in the city, with numerous casualties reported. Libyans and Algerians have offered services and ambassadors are asked to enlist volunteers. Police resumed the search for 14 year old John Davis of Oakford after a rubber raft carrying him and three companions drifted into turbulent water and went over Nashaminy Falls. His friends saved themselves by leaping to shore as the raft carried him away.
Firestone Rubber and Latex Products President R A Riley praised Corry as a fine place to locate a plant in a letter to the Corry Area Industrial Development Corp.
