Truman Tours by Car After Hospital Stay
Former President Harry S. Truman rode in an automobile yesterday after leaving Research Hospital where he had gall bladder and appendix surgery on June 20. Mrs. Truman said the trip did not tire him and he seems to be getting stronger. Jamestown officials say the area’s water supply should stay reliable this summer barring a dry spell. Clayton Johnson, superintendent of the Board of Public Utilities, noted Cassadaga Wells groundwater is down slightly but water use is also down compared with 1953 and 1952.
