Seattle July 21 John H. Mesra flew the City of New York plane over Seattle at 4:80 m and then headed east in a bid to set a new world girdling record. He is expected to land in Spokane then reach New York by Sunday, aiming to complete the solo flight in about 22 days.
Mr and Mrs Lawrence Colegrove and Mr and Mrs Burlingame will depart early Sunday for Wikes Barre where Colegrove will attend the Rural Letter Carriers state convention as one of six Erie County delegates. The gathering is expected to back Ned Gandell of Edinboro for national president, with Goodell as current vice president sought for elevation.

Eleven were injured when a Long Island electric train’s smoking car ran off an open draw bridge into Jamaica Bay at Hammels L I. The second car remained on the rails. officials investigate whether a stop signal was missed or the bridge signal not set.
Pennsylvania farmer America Chulchil was held without bond on murder charges in the shooting death of Roy Dean, a Conneaut cattle buyer and butcher, at a lakeside summer cottage. Police initially thought suicide. a party preceded the death. Prosecutor Charles Beal said evidence shows Dean was killed during the party. a revolver was found near the body. George Gibson, whose property hosted the body, posted $10,000 bail as a material witness, and Gibson's wife was questioned.
DeForest Buick Company of Sharon wins Buick agency in the city and will open Saturday July 28 with a complete showing of the 1929 models. M W DeForest arranged a long lease on West Main street to house the new operation in a remodeled building formerly the Grand theatre. The firm serves Mercer county and parts of Venango Crawford and Erie counties and has also taken the Union City agency and additional territory around Corry. Guy Mitchell, longtime company salesman, will run the local agency and move from Greenville. Harold Dietzel will join and be based in Titusville. An up-to-date Buick service station will begin operations with the opening.
Two fliers Lt Paul Reader and IRennath Davenport resumed their flight to Indianapolis yesterday after fog forced a halt. They began at Corry Country Club with planned refueling stops in Cleveland, awaiting weather to continue. previous attempts near Carter Hill and Hare Creek damaged the craft, repairs aided by Standard Automatic Products Company.
