Harrisburg dispatch reports the AFL Pennsylvania Federation of Labor will endorse S. Senator Francis J. Myers for re election. A federation spokesman said Myers is nearly certain to receive the backing due to favorable labor records and national AFL approval. The group, with about 700 000 members, plans a statewide slate and may announce endorsements for governor and other offices after today’s meeting.

Other injured include E W Callisch with a cut finger and James Powell with a lower lip laceration after a bicycle fall.
A truck blast near Chiang Kai-shek's downtown district killed three and wounded twelve, most victims Chinese laborers. A refreshment stand was blown apart as a truck collision triggered the explosion, with the scene described as sounding like a large bomb.

United Lines Steel Corp plans add 2.96 million tons of annual capacity with extensions in the Chicago and Pittsburgh districts. Carnegie- Tlingis Steel Corp subsidiaries will expand near Tren ton New Jersey to about 70 thousand tons monthly, with other plants increasing furnace capacity and output.
Baltimorean Anthony Zack, 36, failed to overturn orders for his extradition to Lebanon County Pennsylvania on safecracking charges. Maryland Court of Appeals denied reargument of his writ of habeas corpus after ruling he did not prove he was in Pennsylvania during key periods.

Pittsburgh July 18 Two damage suits are filed against American Steel and Wire Company a unit of U S Steel seeking 40000. The cases stem from the Dahoha smog of 184% and bring total damage claims to 4 22850.
