Bills Threaten Pennsylvania Highway Program Wrecking Funds
United Press reports in Philadelphia that two Pennsylvania General Assembly bills are labeled high wreckers by the Keystone Automobile Club. Senator Pay and Representative Sowers seek to divert motor funds to welfare and poor relief, risking thousands of highway jobs and halting road expansion and maintenance. The club warns the measure would wipe out the motor license fund and devastate highway construction and related industries.
