Police in Wrong at Oil City
At Oil City Pennsylvania on July 17 1916 three men Intea Cohen insane Brofda and Jack Miler were arrested in the Cohen residence on Senem street for gambling and faced Mayor Siggins. Attorney McGill argued police overstepped by breaking into a private home without a warrant and that the men were not shown to be gambling for money. He claimed the city ordinance targets public gambling locales only and urged a solicitor review while police defended their observation of the game and money on the table. The mayor reserved a decision and the case proceeds with witness statements pending.
