Murder Case in Mckean County Before Jury
Smethport Pa July 16 A murder trial reached the jury in the case of Joseph Ferino charged with murdering his wife Sloan. Alma Capasino of Warren claimed she wrote letters to Ferino, and the Commonwealth supplied testimony of Frank Capasino about his wife’s alleged infidelity. The defense contends the letters were burned and maintains the affair, not the murder, as motive. The trial featured a Warren photographer’s portrait from August 8 1926 and extensive testimony on the couple’s social life and travel.
