The Strawser parents of the slain farmer visited the attorney in an effort to save their son from the electric chair Monday. Margiotti said the Strawsers reported Wibb som told them Sunday night that Pingman fired the shot which killed Gabe after Straw had struck the farmer with a hammer.
In Payallup Washington a fugitive slayer identified as William Mutan sits trapped in river-bottom brush as a heavily armed posse closes in. Bloodhounds will search the area while authorities await a confrontation after the earlier police shooting that fatally wounded Chief Chadwick and Officer Storem.
United Press staff correspondent reports Italy may deploy Benity Muscotnt and Crown Prince Humbert to East Africa for a potential Abyssinia campaign. Mussolini mobilizes two more divisions and auxiliaries, signaling readiness for war despite possible attempts to avert hostilities.

Pittsburgh dispatch reports Martha Westwood, wife of McKeen Rocks squire, was shot in her bed six days after an intruder whispered outside the window. District Attorney Andrew T. Park voiced continued perplexity as he questioned all relatives and associates, with no solid lead emerging.
Councilman Nichols sought an investigation into the police department after a Sunday riot on First Avenue. City Solicitor Beattie informed him the department is under the Mayor’s division and not under council control. Maj. Gen. George J. Leach national commander of the National Guard was located by a shepherd near Kingman Arizona after four hours lost in the desert. Leach had jumped from a burning airplane piloted by Capt. Charles M. Cummings, who landed safely. Leach walked miles before being assisted and later brought to Kingman for recovery. Continuous reports say he was en route to Santa Maria California to review guard maneuvers when the plane burst into flames at ten thousand feet.
Democratic Leader Joseph Robinson of Arkansas charged Senator Thomas D. Schall of Minnesota with violating Senate rules of decency by muting statements about President Roosevelt. Robinson shouted Schall could not shield himself behind an affliction as he criticized Schall for seeking to print a speech and an editorial in the Congressional Record and for calling Roosevelt a meglomaniac during a heated exchange.
In Cleveland on July 16 two gunmen knocked down Mary Sullens a Prudential Life Insurance cashier, stealing 3144 before escaping from the Guardian building after the women were leaving the offices with yesterday's receipts to the bank.
