Wedding Ties Miss Karen Carter and Gilbert Sorenson
Miss Karen Ann Carter and Gilbert A Sorenson were married at First Baptist Church in an afternoon ceremony. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs William Carter, wore bridal satin with lace bodice, crown veil and carried white roses. The groom is son of Mrs Clara Sorenson. Attendants included Mrs Ruth Austin matron of honor and Harold Sorenson best man. A 100 guest reception followed in the church social rooms. The couple plans a Johnstown honeymoon and resides in Johnstown after both finishing high school and pursuing studies.

Archers Kick Off Third Annual Corry Archery Festival
Members of the Professional Archers Association gathered at Perry's Inn for a social hour and dinner before the business meeting signaling the start of Corry's Third Annual Archery Festival weekend events. A Saturday night dance followed a Moose Lodge smorgasbord after an all-day competition at Sheen Field. Awards were presented Sunday evening and plans for the Fourth Annual festival were announced by tournament director Mrs. James Miller.
