John N Maarks died early Sunday at his home on Piet Avenue where he lived and ran a painting and paper hanging business for over fifty years. Born in Lancaster County in 1838 he served in the 9th Pennsylvania Volunteers C E and after the Civil War settled in Corry. He led the city tire department, served on the Board of Education and was active in ROTC and Post 70 G A R. Survived by wife and two sisters, funeral Monday at the Lutheran church with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
