An open reception in Fellowship Hall next Thursday will welcome Rev Reed J Hurst and his wife of Greensburg PA, arriving Saturday to take the pastorate. The event runs from 8 to 10 PM for congregation members and friends.
Pleasantville Summer Festival presents a three day art exhibit at Pleasantville High School on North Main on August 4 5 and 6 with hours daily. Open to amateur and professional artists with crafts and fine arts welcome. Entry 50 cents per item, entries due by July 22. Awards include $10 first and $5 second in both fine arts and crafts, with three judges. Works due August 3 1 5 p m or August 4 9 10 a m, removal after 5 p m August 6. A newly formed 4-H club named the We ll Keep You in Stitches Sewing Club plans a Warren County Fair booth. Members learn basics of sewing at leader Mrs. Leslie Curtis’s Columbus home. Guests Miss Phyllis Wright and Miss Edith Miller attended this week.
Members and guests of the Corry Bridge Association held a Howell session at the Corry Motor Inn yesterday evening. The average score was 36 with winners including Mr and Mrs Morgan Beverly and Arthur Hansen of Union City and Mrs LH Treat, plus Mrs Arthur Hansen and Robert Larsen of Jamestown tied with Mr and Mrs FH Bartholme of Union City. A regular game is set for next Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Motor Inn. all area bridge players are invited.
