Mischa Mischakoff played Beethoven violin concerto in B minor, joined by Bach chorales arranged by Albert Stoessel, with Howard Hansen's Pan and the Priest on the program. President Arthur Bestor welcomed the ensemble noting a small loss in gate receipts versus recent averages. The orchestra’s returnees included musicians dating back to 1909 when the NY Symphony first played here. A Chautauqua salute honored the musicians and conductor, who led with The Star-Spangled Banner.
