50 Killed In Quake Devastates Holy Land Regions

Open Bids Tonight for N Center St Resurfacing

City Council will convene tonight to open bids for resurfacing North Center Street from the Pennsylvania railroad to Washington Street and from the park to Columbus Avenue. Previous bids were readvertised after noncompliant bidders. Center Street resurfacing should begin within two weeks as bids are opened and the project proceeds.

Jury near completion in Canton murder trial

In Canton Ohio on July 12 a jury of six women and five men heard the case of former Canton police chief A Lengel charged with killing Don R. Mellett Canton News publisher. Byrd and Companions On Way Home From Europe

In a Cherbourg to Atlantic return, Commander Richard Byrd and his flight crew, aboard the Fokker monoplane America, head for home after a welcome from France. Plans for V. F. W. Ice Cream Social
