Erie pennsylvania runs a pilot in Elgin Borough to assess the revised county system. Assessor Martin Gregor and assistant Ralph Gosnell will collect data from 79 parcels to gauge operations and potential costs before statewide implementation.
The Pennsylvania Gas Company and other New York area suppliers will undergo a safety probe by the Public Service Commission. W H Locke of Warren says inspections started this year with a hearing set for July 23. The inquiry follows the Brighton Rochester suburb explosions of September 1951.
The liquor code consolidates prior laws controlling traffic in liquor and beer, regulates licensing and enforcement, and grants the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board broad powers to issue suspend or revoke licenses.
