Judge Elmer Trans granted reductions on 13 appeals from Brigs 1939 real property assessments. The W T Grant Company property at ih and State streets saw a 60000 reduction from 242000, about 25 percent, eight percent of city valuation. Total assessed value fell from 419600 to 832298 as new court valuations established.

Damage case verdict reduced in Erie court
In Erie on an October 11 trial, a jury awarded Don ald Miller and his parents Paul and Ethel Miller $27,329 from the city. County judges J. Orin Waite and George H. Rowley ruled $8,000 to the parents was excessive and reduced the total to $1,800 for the plaintiffs.
