Dim Hopes For Kalamazoo Suspect In Slaying Case
State Police Det. Sgt. Leo Po Weir said new details dim the chances that 21 year old Larry Lee Ranes from Michigan is the killer of Donald Perkins. Ranes reportedly worked two jobs in July 1963 while Perkins was slain August 22, 1963. Handwriting checks on a Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board age card signed by Ranes were inconclusive. The inquiry continues to remove all doubt about Ranes as the slayer.
