Two Youngsters Killed Rescue Imminent Then Came Sharks

Malpractice Suit Settled Over Pa Hospital Errors
A Minneapolis family settled for 170000 in a malpractice case against Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital of Wellsboro Pennsylvania and two doctors Dr Ivan H Brechbill and Dr David P Gillum. The suit alleged brain damage to Lorin C Smith Jr born July 27 1969 due to mis typed blood and delayed tests after a yellowing condition appeared in his mother. Court records say a hospital staff member mistyped the blood type and the doctors relied on it rather than ordering new tests. The mother reported the yellow color soon after birth but action was not taken for four days.
