Fisherman 74 Drowns When Allegheny River Boat Sinks
Lloyd Heeter 74 of Emlenton drowned yesterday when his boat sank while fishing in the Allegheny River about 300 yards south of the Emlenton bridge in Jackson Eddy. Deputy Coroner Robert A. Young said Heeter was with William Beals who survived. Beals grabbed a life jacket cushion and struggled to help, the witnesses said. The boat sank as a result of a heavy current and short anchor rope. the front pulled under and filled with water within a minute.
