Bell Telephone operations to rebuild lines after takeover
The Bell Telephone Company will take over the Souurrial system linking Dodge and Akeley. As soon as materials are available lines will be rebuilt improving service. The Erie of the region and associated towns await summer progress and the nationwide observance of Independence Day. The two end points have served Dodge, North Dakota and Akeley, Minnesota historically.

Erie Considers New Taxes Under State Power
Mayor Gale Ross called a meeting of Erie city officials to decide which of up to 45 new taxes could be imposed under state granted powers. He said new real estate taxes are unlikely, and any taxation move will require careful study before decisions on new bases. The city currently taxes fees for licenses and plans to avoid broad new levies.
