Second bandit nabbed in Erie store robbery

Erie July 3 reports the $1 121 liquor store robbery at 813 West 261 street ended with the return from Pittsburgh of the second youth who admitted his role. Joseph McCune 17 of Pittsburgh was arrested Tuesday afternoon by Troopers Stinnett Mathias and Det Sgt Donahue. The first youth John Bucayinski 20 was earlier arrested in Pittsburgh. Both youths denied prior records and said the Erie holdup was their first crime. A stolen car used in the escape was abandoned. Coca Cola Bottling Works of West 24th Street owned the car, now recovered in Youngstown. About $370.16 of the loot had been spent, the trooper said. The guns used were recovered in Pittsburgh. They pled guilty at 1:30 p.m. before Alderman William Heisler and were remanded to county prison without bail pending sentence.
