In Corry a string of light rain did not close city playgrounds which remained open while supervisors plan a Circus in Meat Pork. Robin and la Penna lead the Pi chaired event with activities daily and special crafts by local families.
Franklin City Council refused a three year renewal with The Don Wilkenson Agency to collect the $10 occupational privilege tax. Councilman Floyd Hughes argued that a publicly elected tax collector should handle city taxes. The vote 3 to 2 defeated the proposal with Rodgers Mammolite supporting it.
Corry area families from the PenNY Campers group joined a weekend gathering at the central Chapman Dam park ride near Warren. Participants from Corry included Erfeopitoted bill Ways NE and Mrs Rrnold Johnson, Ronald Carter, Herbert Meidler, Edgar Miller, Paul Crowell, and Corny r of Waterford. They plan to attend the National Campers and Hiking Club Association annual convention tomorrow.
In Crawford County the farm property used by the Anthropodeic church group is now tax paid. Wallace Dean Daniel Close of Montgomery County confirmed the taxes are settled. Summit Township residents will meet at 8 pm at the Summit Township Volunteer Fire Department to hear questions about the hippie group. District attorney’s office Health Department and State Police reps will answer. Harry Mc Grath, a spokesman for the group, said the meeting is informational and no action is planned.
Titusville hosts a 730 p m strategy session at City Hall for the second urban renewal project. Attendees include the council planning commission housing authority redevelopment authority and the mayor s advisory committee with Charles Nath DHUD regional coordinator guiding the discussion and reporting on regional talks.
