Former Corry Man Named In $20,000 Suit
Two $20,000 plus suits filed in Erie County court by John B. Babay Sr. over a fatal car train collision near North East on October 23, 1961. Defendants include New York Chicago and St. Louis Railroad Co and Robert L. Phibbs, engineer, with Theresa M. Fowles and her father Robert D. Fowles named. Centerville resident Chaos Knight Sr suffered injuries when a car Knight drove skidded at Centerville Corners. He required stitches to two fingers and cuts to his hand and face after the crash at Tracy's Service Station and was admitted to Titusville Hospital. James Heeter, a high school student, was also injured and treated for a fractured thigh.

Stackpole Union Pact Eases Kane Economy Shock
A new contract between Stackpole Carbon and Local 502 IUE AFL signed at St Marys before 11 am yesterday may set a historic precedent after early negotiations began last July. The agreement affects over 500 Kane area workers, with Stackpole plants totaling about 2,000 regional employees. A ratification meeting is planned at Elk County Christian High School in St Marys on Sunday.
