Titusville Plans Fines for Refuse Firm Overdue Collections
Titusville will fine F and R Refuse Service more than 500 dollars for failing to meet on time garbage pickup in the city since last Wednesday. City manager Howald H. Drew said penalties will include the base fine and deduction of Christmas tree pickup costs. City crews collected trees at 10 am yesterday. 73 complaints about service were logged Thursday through yesterday. At the council meeting residents crowded in to hear about the garbage problem as many left after the report. Drew said collections are not back on schedule and the firm was deemed substandard. He will confer with the council and city solicitor Bruce Smith soon to discuss the contract.
