Agnes Loss Applications Still Available
Ivan Rose, chair of Crawford County ASC, says applications are still being taken from foundation breeding herd livestock owners hit by Hurricane Agnes who lack feed. The Emergency Livestock Feed program runs through May 1, with eligibility for those lacking silage, hay, or grain who also show crop losses. Eligible LFP grain requires crop loss exceeding FHA reimbursement. producers may file a second crop loss statement to qualify. Railcar shortages hindered LFP grain shipping, but ASC has used processed feed warrants or selling handlers’ gains before LFP recoupment to aid producers.
