State May Back Low Cost House Program
Harrisburg January 29 A state plan to back a low cost housing and slum clearance program will be started this week at a Gov George H Earle called conference. The conference will include federal authorities and legislative leaders and may influence the outcome of the Philadelphia Supreme Court case on the state authority act of 1935. If upheld the authority could borrow federal money for a $64 million institutional building program and possibly extend to modular apartments in slum areas financed by federal and state funds. The current legislature weighs state housing authority bills granting eminent domain for condemnation.
