Revised farm legislation favored by Senate committee splits parties
Sixteen applicants to positions in the city fire departments queued at the municipal building for civil service examinations to be given Saturday at 10. The supply of blank applications had been exhausted and more forms were being printed. Between twenty and twenty five are expected to take the exam. Tests cover fire police and health departments. Results will be sent to City Council Monday evening for certification of eligible applicants. The exams aim to fill police and fire vacancies caused by new work rules.
