Penny stops work on new freight terminal
The Pennsylvania Railroad halted work on its $4,500,000 downtown freight terminal. A spokesman said no more construction will occur until the State Superior Court rules on an appeal set for March 14. The Public Utility Commission had allowed three street crossings into the Liberty Avenue warehouse, near Sixth Street, but the board of trade claims the crossings would endanger motor traffic.
