Tullah Hanley Gives $3 Million In Art To Frisco
San Francisco reports former belly dancer Tullah Hanley widow of Edward Hanley is donating $3 million in art to the city. The 210 works by Gaugin, Matisse, Manet, Boucher and Renoir were uncrated at the De Young Museum with plans to tour Denver and a future East Coast return in question. Hanley, a natural gas investor who died last year at 75, will travel with the exhibit and keep its name. In Bradford, Pa. the collection once hung in the couple’s home. Also included is her claim of prior Europe and U.S. stage work and a note on her life philosophy. The second item describes a Reno, Nev. bank robbery where a well-dressed man asked for help before pulling a gun and escaping with about $1,300.
