Washington January 26 The ericulture Department outlines a nation wide soil erosion program with a three point plan focusing on long term farm management tenure contracts for firm tenants and education to spread erosion control practices. Farmers face losses totaling hundreds of millions yearly with millions of acres damaged or eroded across farms and rangelands. Clive Wickard AA A division director notes the need for expanded conservation efforts alongside state led projects. Recommendations urge increased fertilizer use drought resistant crops and permanent pasture planting plus forest preservation and county schools on erosion control.
