Troops Move Toward Hak Cong Infiltration Route
A crack battalion of U S paratroopers has been moved from the Saigon defense perimeter to choke off a major Viet Cong infiltration route 60 miles north. About 800 men of the 3rd Brigade 2nd Airborne Division were deployed along the Song Be corridor from Cambodia into War Zone D as Viet Cong 5th Division units were reported moving south. The action targets Long Binh and Bien Hoa bases, with allied pressure restricting Viet Cong movement to small groups in Tay Ninh Binh Long and Phuoc Hong provinces.
