Early Friday fire sweeping west Water street in Fredonia caused about 59000 in losses and destroyed two garages and a dwelling. Structures included Sanderson Garage owned by Dewey Sanderson and the old Dukes residence on land of G A Winch Inc. The blaze began in Sanderson Garage workshop likely from the heating system, fanned by a southwest wind in zero weather, with three families displaced and businesses Hamford Motor Sales and Dunlop Tire affected.
