The Tennessee Gas Transmission Co of Houston asked the Federal Power Commission for permission to enlarge its natural gas pipeline network by about 000 miles of line plus new stations and 260 miles of internal lines. M/Sgt. Robert Sanders of Surry Maryland returned home for the first time after fifteen months and two days since leaving in 1950. He was among the seriously wounded Corry Glytr Koren, hospitalized in Waltham Massachusetts, and arrived in Erie by train today. Sanders underwent multiple surgeries and remains under medical care with a 21 day sick leave and three more operations planned after February.
Reported Nepalese rebel actions faltered as government forces crushed the uprising, capturing 1,800 rebels and killing several.
