Four Klansmen Await Sentence in Greenville Case

Four Ku Klux Klan members were convicted of conspiring to flog a 58-year-old Black man at his home near Travelers Rest, about 19 miles north of Greenville. An all white jury found Andrew Marshall Rochester Wade Henry Howard Jack Bentley and Robert B Waldrop guilty of assault and battery and conspiracy. Sentences ranged up to 15 years for Rochester and Howard and up to 10 years for Bentley and Waldrop.

Three Titusville youths held in seven car thefts

Three Titusville youths aged 1 and 13 were held for juvenile court in Crawford County after police tied them to seven stolen cars in Titusville and Spartanshore. Two were captured in Corry, the third in Titusville, with all three admitting they used cars for joyriding and abandoned them. One car, a 1964 Ford sedan owned by Edward A. Hilliard, remained disputed. Local break-ins and a rail car theft were also investigated.

Agents Smash Heroin Ring In New Jersey

Corry Street sewer work totals and 1957 costs

Judge Bars Cameras From Dean Trial

Franklin Venango County Criminal Court will ban cameras and recording devices next Monday for the murder trial of 21 year old Philippine mother Lydie Desh. Desh is charged with rifle slaying of her husband Ronald Dean an Air Force technical sergeant at his parents home in Pleasantville.
