MINNEAPOLIS Jan 23 Two babies died in an explosion and fire in a small home at the University Village housing project for students. Steven Elsen aged five months and Sanden Nouss one year old perished. Their parents Barbers Gisenberg and Sanita Nattis were treated for burns. Gerald Altren of Duluth is brother to Mrs. Elsenberg.
General Dwight D. Eisenhower declares he is not available for any political nomination. He cites concerns about entangling commitments and duty to country, noting his readiness to serve in military duty. He plans to leave the Army around February 15 and become Columbia University president in June.
