Kane County Common Pleas opens Tuesday at 10 am with case of Moser Manufacturing Company of Kane versus insurance firms over a prior fire that destroyed the Moser plant on October 29, 1944. Also notes City budgets, local obituaries, business ads, and community notices as read in City and Vicinity.
Opal Dixon, 35, a mother of two and waitress from Des Moines, signed a statement admitting a $2850 daytime holdup at Des Moines Bank and Trust and a prior $582 armed robbery at United Bank and Trust in St. Louis on December 26. She faces mandatory terms under state law.
Police cleared a suspect in the kidnapping of Alice Dean after he was linked to a San Francisco dancing lesson group. State Police renewed a message to seize 42 year old W. Billes, 6 feet 8 inches, 165 pounds, driving a gray 1937 Ford, last seen near a motel in Sacramento area. The victim was abducted in Lod and held captive, blindfolded and gagged, as the investigation traced the motel ties and travel. A Babylon king’s code of laws is noted in the report.
