U S Ready to Reject New Appeal to China

U S officials signaled readiness to reject any new appeal to China while urging participation of directly interested governments, including Nationalist China. Publisher Frank T. Finlon Dies in Braddock

Frank T. Finlon 60 editor and publisher of the Braddock Free Press died Saturday after a long illness. A native of Dohristown he moved to Braddock 80 years ago and began as advertising manager before purchasing the Free Press. A requiem mass will be sung tomorrow in Braddock.

Judge halts hearing on Matson charges in Pittsburgh

Judge Samuel A. Weiss halted the hearing ordered by Attorney General Marcielli on charges that Mrs. Marjorie Hansen Matson an assistant district attorney has leftist associations. Matson took a leave of absence pending the case and denied the charges. The judge granted a temporary injunction at her attorneys’ request and will schedule a later hearing on the injunction.
